Extract DSD from SACDs to an External DAC
Milwaukee, WI – 9/23/2020 – The GeerFab Audio D.BOB (Digital BreakOut Box) extracts DSD64 from SACDs and up to 24/192 PCM from Blu-ray Audio discs and sends the data, with full copy protection, to an external DAC. Legally. For the first time ever. And this innovation has now been recognized as a Nominee for the 36th Annual NAMM Technical Excellence & Creativity (TEC) Awards in the category of Outstanding Technical Achievement – Production Essentials.
Presented by The NAMM Foundation, The NAMM TEC Awards are bestowed annually in celebration of the pro audio community by recognizing the individuals, companies and technical innovations behind today’s sound recordings, live performances, films, television, video games and other media.
“I am proud that the first product from our new company is nominated for this prestigious award, honored to be among the best in the industry and excited about the visibility afforded by this most esteemed and celebrated international platform,” said Eric Geer, Founder & President, GeerFab Audio.
The nomination announcement follows a four-month call for entries of standout technical and creative products and projects that have made a significant impact on modern sound and music. A panel of respected industry voters from pro audio publications as well as members of professional music, technical and creative organizations, along with select NAMM members carefully evaluated each entry before selecting the GeerFab Audio D.BOB for the nomination.
After a successful introduction at last year’s high-end shows, the GeerFab Audio D.BOB has been released and is currently on a roll, with an expanding dealer network in the US and EU, recent reviews in Stereophile (including an A-rated listing in Recommended Components – Digital Processors), The Absolute Sound, Posi+ive Feedback and audioXpress, along with a growing list of 5-star customer reviews. The NAMM TEC Award nomination is the latest accolade.
The NAMM TEC Awards will be held in January 2021 in conjunction with Believe in Music Week, the global, online gathering to unite and support the people who bring music to the world. Learn more about the TEC Awards at www.tecawards.org.
